Course Description: This continuing education course provides advanced training in domestic violence intervention, focusing on equipping mental health professionals and advocates with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to effectively support survivors and address the multifaceted challenges of intimate partner violence.

Objectives:

  1. Review advanced concepts and theories of domestic violence, including power and control dynamics and the cycle of violence.
  2. Explore the impact of domestic violence on survivors' mental health, physical health, and well-being.
  3. The clinician will be able to describe psychodynamic intervention techniques used with perpetrators.

  4. The clinician will be able to identify available community resources for victims and their families.
